Corona virus update – Cancellation of church events

General News – Wednesday, April 1st, 2020

Given the present position with the corona virus COVID-19 outbreak, we have now  decided to cancel all internal events, including Sunday Services and the weekly Breakfast on the Steps, until further notice.

Our Minister will provide shortened audio versions of the services for you to listen to. Click here to find the audio files. We will also post a written version to those members who would prefer that. Our breakfast guests will receive vouchers for a hot drink a bite to eat in a nearby cafe.

Please read the full message by Reverend Carla Maurer from 13 March 2020:

“The Swiss Church in London decided to take precautionary measures regarding the corona virus with immediate effect. Our guidelines will be reviewed and updated regularly as the situation develops.

All internal church events are cancelled until further notice, including Sunday services and Breakfast on the Steps, and we strongly advise external events happening at our church to be postponed at no extra cost. The Swiss Church team will be working from home. You can contact us via email or via the Minister’s and the Office Administrator’s mobile phone.

We feel that we have a duty as a public institution dealing with people in the risk groups to be a leading example in how we can all together help slowing down the spreading of the corona virus. Social distancing is the most effective way to help achieve this, and a sign of solidarity. It will benefit everyone, give our health services more time to prepare for the emergencies and save lives. Hopefully we can inspire other individuals and institutions to do the same.

The church services will be distributed as voice message or sent via post as paper copies. You can find the audio files here. Our breakfast guests will be given vouchers for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat in a nearby cafe.

If you need any help with meal deliveries or shopping, or if you wish to talk to someone, please contact Carla.

With every blessing, Reverend Carla Maurer”
