On 1st January 1519 Ulrich Zwingli started preaching on the New Testament verse by verse from his pulpit in the Grossmünster in Zurich, thereby launching the Reformation in German speaking Switzerland.

Zwingli is a much misunderstood character. During 2019 many events will be organised thorough Switzerland, which will reassess his legacy.
